Maybe Michael should update his '98 with a solid front axle, a 216, huck
brakes, a granny-low 4 speed and a 4.56 rear end.

Subject: Re: [oletrucks] 1998 Chevy Recall - Off Topic
I keep saying it and people think it's a joke, but seriously - it isn't
old enough.
My brother is getting transmission codes in his Camaro (the newer Camaro).
I've had starters die one after another in my Cavalier. We have a
Celebrity that has a problem with just about every electrical component
(bad ground?). My dad's S-10 recently broke down just sitting parked in
the drive way. We've had nothing but trouble with modern vehicles, and the
rest of my family and friends have had the same.
My '50 3100, all stock, never has any of this trouble. I've had two
problems with it. I flooded it once and had trouble getting it started.
One of those transitional days between spring and winter when it's a bit
of a guess. The other is when I had a bad fuel filter in it - something
got into the carb and plugged it up, but it cleared out pretty quickly and
I was on my way. Just slowed me down by a few minutes.
So I continue to say it, and everybody still laughs at me, but the
problem is that your truck isn't old enough.
