If I want good mileage, I ride the bike ;) My 79 truck gets 10mpg, whether I have something in the back or not. I drive it only when absolutely necessary. But then I live where I can get away with that. When I get the 55 the way I want it, I'll get rid of the 79 and use the 55 in the same way (well, I'll drive it a bit more than that).
