Hello Robert,
The 350 should basically just slip right it without
any problems. Block hugger headers seem to work well.
The inner fenders will have to have about 2 to 3
inches trimmed off the bottom for IFS to allow
clearance for the upper a arms.
Two things for the steering. Either go with power
rack and pinion or go with a saginaw steering sector
out of a 70's truck mounted on the inside of the
driver's side fender (outside the frame rail). Either
way the column will have to modified or replaced.
Also, the drive shaft and rear end will have to be
changed to accomidate for the open drive train.
I don't understand your question regarding the
crossover pipe. I was under the impression you run a
crossover pipe when using dual exhaust. It's suppost
to help equilize the pressure between the two pipes.
At least, according to Shade Tree Mechanics, it is.
I plan on running dual exhausts and having them run
out right before the rear wheels. I would like to run
them all the way to the back but the fuel tank wont
let me the way I going to have it setup. Where also
going to add some power header dumps. Not legal...but
who is these days.
Best of luck in your conversion,
=====
