+AD4-I purchased a ready made cabinet from TIP Tools. They also have a nice set
+AD4-of plans to build one (+ACQ-7.50) and then they also carry all the misc
hardware
+AD4-to go with it. The good news is, you can make it any size you want. Having
+AD4-one big enough for fenders would be great, but that would be one HUGE
+AD4-cabinet. You not only need it big enough to fit the fenders, but large
+AD4-enough to spray around them. Mine is not that big, but I can use the
+AD4-blasting gun with a bucket of media and go outside and blast fenders and
+AD4-larger parts.
+AD4-
+AD4-The blast cabinet has been my most used and most important tool. I wanted
to
+AD4-ask everyone how much are you paying for silica? TIP wants about
++ACQ-25.00 for
+AD4-a 50 pound bag. The local auto parts store wants +ACQ-32.00. Shipping from
+TIP
+AD4-would make it about the same. Also, when you run across chrome parts or
+AD4-polished steel parts is there a media a person can use to clean those? I
+AD4-just use steel wool on those but the thought occured to me that maybe I am
+AD4-missing something.
+AD4-
+AD4-Since I am doing a full resto, every nut, bolt, washer gets blasted before
+AD4-primer and paint. The blast cabinet is a necessity for the perfectionist.
If
+AD4-you call TIP they will send you a catalog that is quite impressive as far
as
+AD4-blasting equipment. It gives dimensions for all of their cabinets so you
can
+AD4-get a better idea of what is standard. TIP's number is 800 321-9260.

+AD4APg- Hello Everyone,
+AD4APg- Has anyone built a sand/media blasting box from a kit or from plans?
+AD4-I'm
+AD4APg- no woodworker, but I have friends who are, and they think it will be
easy.
+AD4APg- If I'm careful about the measurements, etc., can I build something that
+AD4-will
+AD4APg- work? Does anyone have plans to share for a box big enough for fenders,
+AD4APg- etc.? Any comments would be very helpful. Thanks. I've looked at a
+couple
+AD4-of
+AD4APg- catalogs, and I can't afford another +ACI-toy+ACI- big enough to do
+the job.
+AD4-Thanks,
+AD4APg- Mike.
