Speaking of parts...I have two early 1970 MGB motors and trannys, one
with overdrive for sale to the Best Offer. I am also parting out my 1971
MGB GT that was in a front end accident. Gauges, interior, glass, etc.,
are available. If there was ever a case of "she ran fine when I last
drove it"...this is it.
Email me a fmorris@sidwater.org if you are interested. The body is
going to the junk yard pretty soon so any recycling we can do would make
me feel better. I live in the Fairfield area if you are interested in
viewing any of the items.

Mark,
I think Andy is right. I don't know what MG used, but it is probably
valve guides or valve stem seals. Either way just carry a clean spark
plug on your drives and change it if it becomes fouled.
And low oil pressure is usually a better indicator of engine problems.
