Bill,
There is a grease fitting on the axle, just behind the brake backing
plate, give this a shot once every 5000 miles. Unless the bearing is
bad you shouldn't need to pull the hub.
If you really want to take the rear hub off you will need a 1 1/4"
socket 6 point is better than 12point. Pull the cotter pin, then with
the wheel on the floor and blocked, put the socket on a short
extension, and a breaker bar. Add about 3 feet of pipe to the breaker
bar, and pull up, or stand on it. Remove the brake drum, you will
need a large puller to remove the hub Keep the nut loosely on the
axle or don't stand in front of the hub, mine went about 3 feet. Then
a slide hammer to pull the axle and a 3.25 lb. hammer and a vice to
get the bearing off. When you are reassembling tighten the axle nut
to at least 125 lbs and then tighten some more till you can put the
cotter pin in.
