Hello fellow listers,
During my three days' visit to The Factory early next month, I got good
opportunity to have a look at the new 4-seater. In general it's a better car
than the old one and much more practical, if only for the hood! With the top
in place it simply looks like a motorized hooded cart, nothing else...
However, one wonders if people buy a car like this for its looks. The car
provides sporting motoring for a family with two small kids in good safety
and higher comfort than with the previous version. The new deep seats see to
that. Also, for people who still might prefer the looks of a 4-seater of
those of the 2-seater, there is good news. If you fold the rear seats down
there's a large space to store goodies.
Adults don't need to try to sit at the back; they simply don't fit. I (with
a length of just under 6' and average stature) could not sit in the seats
without feeling trapped, while the front seat could not be bent back without
touching my knees.
As to driving with the hood up, it may not be necessary in the shiny USA,
but Europe has many rainy parts, so people should decide for themselves if
they can stand driving along in a modern hooded cart!
