If your going to make a new seat platform go the extra mile and make it as a
box with the plywood panel as the top. Makes a great storage area. I keep a
couple of wood block in mine and use them to raise the front of the plywood
panel on long trips to gives the seat more rake and leg room (blocks for the
front and back would allow your daughter to raise the seat to her height).
Storage wise I keep my tommy bar, allen wrench, wiper blades, radar detector
, tapes, maps and a pullover rain jacket in them.

Gregs comment about the bladders is right on. I have never found anything as
good as the bladders.Foam colapes after aboout four hours and you end up
sitting on the board. For the past ten years I have been making my own
bladders from $1.99 kids inflatable swim rafts, and duct tape.
Greg put me down for a four bladders when you get them .
