I just came in from (to take a break) from working on putting up new
garage doors. Thought I'd check my mail. Glad to hear that you got things
apart. I just hate to hear how you had to do it. But sometimes you have
to do it.
Your best bet for the parts is Dave Bean Engineering in Ca.:
Dave Bean Engineering Inc., Ford performance engine parts. Great

While your talking to them, order there catalogues. That's the only set
of drawings I really have for the xmission. Even my Cortina manual doesn't
give really great pictures.
The picture shows the tail shaft having a bearing which appears to be at the
back of the main xmission case. The tail shaft also appears to simply fit
inside the input shaft with a bearing between them. The picture show some
sort of a cover on the back of the xmission case that looks as though it
might screw in. It's been too long since I've been into one.
