John,
Don't know if you remember the thread a couple of months ago about
the Morgans and overheating? My '65 overheats above 75 deg. So I
was wondering if you have done anything to your to help it run cool
or is yours totaly stock?
I've had my radiator rodded and have added an overflow bottle and
that is all. I'm currently running a 160 deg. thermostat. But I
still can't keep it cool.
A friend of mine in Ct. called the other night, he has a 64 +4
4 seater with the same overheating problems. He bought his car
new when he was about 20 and I bought mine used in 69 when I was 20. We've
been swapping ideas about mods to help the cooling for almost a year, to no
avail. I'm pretty sure the real solution is a new
radiator with more modern technology. But I haven't had the money
to invest in a new radiator. During our conversation we both keep
wondering how we drove the cars back in the late 60's. Our conclusion
was that:
a. we were young and stupid. So what if the temp guage is burried!
b. parts were cheaper so we didn't worry as much.
c. we are older and wiser now, and don't want to spend time fixing
something that could have been avoided in the first place.
You're insight would be appreciated.
