Yeah, you can see the VIN plate Barney shows is identical to the early =
MGB plate, with the same type of screw. Note that the screw heads are =
not painted body color, since they are affixed after the body is =
painted. They seem to have been black, although the originals are =
generally rusty.
There are rivets on the engine number plate, but that=E2=80=99s a =
different issue =E2=80=94 those rivets can't be used in sheet metal.
There may be pop rivets on the body number tag, but there is no point in =
removing these tags, since they are painted with the body.
