In a D-type yes, but not usually in an LH-type, as the solenoid plunger is
only pushed away by oil pressure when the transmission shaft is turning and
the solenoid is unpowered. You *might* just possibly hear something if you
ran the engine with the OD turned off, stopped the engine, listened with a
stethoscope and energised the solenoid, but I wouldn't guarantee it, and it
would only happen if there had been enough oil pressure from the pump to
push the ball off its seat to begin with, and even when it does it is only a
minimal distance.
