Hi Peter: I have well over $20,000 invested in my restoration of a chrome
bumper 74B and it needed almost all new steel. Financially it simply
doesn't make sense. Would I do it all over again? Probably...but I would
have looked for a better example to start with. On the other hand, I am not
sure that it makes a lot of difference either. There were a lot of parts on
this car that seemed to clean up perfectly...until you go to install the
part back on the 'brand new' body and discover it just isn't perfect enough
and you call up Moss for a replacement!
It all depends on what you want to end up with...your tolerance for being
upside-down financially verses your enjoyment of the restoration and your
sense of accomplishment.
