I went with the HIF swap on my 1980 MGB. I've replaced the distributor
with one from Brit-Tek (in their "Ultimate Ignition Kit" -
http://www.brittek.com/ultimateignitionkit.html), which uses manifold
vacuum, and I've got an earlier intake manifold and the Peco header.

although it looks a little different now. I went with thinner spacers
and the conical K&N filters.
It was a big improvement over the Weber DGV that came with my car in
terms of power, but I still can't get the idle quite right.
