I went HIF.
They are more complex, and possibly more expensive, but they work
pretty well once you get everything set up.
The true PITA (and I have experienced this) is that because the float
bowl is integral, you can't open it up without a lot of work. I had
a chunk of dirt in the fuel needle which caused my carbs to flood.
Cleaning that out would have been trivial on the HS4. As long as you
don't plug in a dirty fuel filter backwards, you should be ok.
