I've been driving my lowered 79B through the Colorado Rockies for 2
years now with no major issues. I got stuck near the Eisenhower tunnel
for 4 hours in a blizzard because of jack-knifed semis and had to
constantly get out to clear the snow from building up around the
exhaust. Once us little cars could get going again, we weaved our way
around the various semis. My little B pretty much floated on top of all
the snow...I think the key is lack of horsepower to spin out with...
nice even acceleration... especially at 10,000ft.
After spending over a year looking for some type of non-trunk bending
ski/board mount/rack, my wife suggested I get a more practical family
skier transport so I also got a 67 Volvo wagon to get everyone to/from
the slopes thinking that those Swedes would've designed a great winter
car...wrong. The Volvo is constantly on the verge of getting stuck and
it's only a matter of time before I'll have to call the wife to come
and tow me out with my trusty B.
