Randy, I've seen several examples of RBB MG's with painted bumpers. Having worked at an auto dealership (not MG) I understand that painting a rubber bumper is not difficult. In fact you can even color match the bumper(s) to the body, which looks outstanding on an MG. The trick is to make sure the body shop uses enough of the additive that allows the paint to adhere and flex with the bumper. Otherwise, the paint will chip and crack. Hope this helps, H. W.
