I've got the same problem, and no time to check on it. Mine is a LH OD (all
synchro conversion in a 1965 B)
1. Let me know, I havn't found out yet, but need to drop the one out of my
car.
2. This is an electrical switch. You can test it while it is in place with
an Ohmeter or continuity tester. Disconect the wiring at the RH firewall
and at the solenoid. Check to see if you have continuity when the gearbox
is in 3rd and 4th gear (assuming this is the original OD, 4th only if it is
a late model). If you have continuity, move the gearshifter around a bit,
continuity should stay good until the gearshift is moved out of the 3-4
slot. This indicates the switch is in good shape.
If the switch is bad, you have my sympathies. Getting to the switch is not
at all easy. Never done it, looking for info from the list. Luckily when
you stuff the all-synchro box into an early car, this switch is accessible
through the tunnel cover.
good luck
Kelvin.
