An oxy/acet. torch is my first choice , but you have to be careful and
work the studs back and forth to be sure it is properly loosened.
Sometimes you must work it a bit and then cool and apply a penetrant.
Since 2 are already broken you can try a progressively larger drill
bit properly centered until you have it almost out to the threads and
then run a tap through it. Barring this you can take it to a machine
shop to be bored out and use a threaded insert, of which there are
several styles available. I have a jig I use to accomplish this, in my
shop. I always use anti-seize on the threads before I install a new
stud. Drilling and the use of a bolt and nut is an option I hate to
see come into the shop as they are a PITA to service.

Hi All !

does anyone know any magic tricks for getting the 6 studs out of the
bottom
of an exhaust manifold, I've tried penetrating oil and heating with a
gas
torch, all I've acomplished is breaking 2 studs, my next thought is
easy
outs but don't even know if that will work as the studs and manifold
seem to
have rusted themselves together....

btw a big thanks to everyone who answered my fuel pump question, makes
much
more sense now!
