To those concerned,
I do not wish to encourage a war of words,
> With all due respect to Bob Holton (who posted a separate response to
> Frank's post and who may have more years of experience with Z-S carbs then
> me, for all I know), a Z-S carburetted MGB engine will start but will not
> run "just fine" without the air cleaner on.
With all due respect to Lawrie, my post to Frank and the list was as
follows:
>Hi Frank,
>The engine will start just fine, idle, and rev without the air filter
>attached. I've been using Mr. Twist's method for a few years, with fine
>results. I'm sure the response of the carb will be different with the
>engine under load.
Please note the word "start". "Run" was never used.
