I am in Texas so it doesn't ever really get _that_ cold here, but after
reading this thread i have to chime in.
a small piece of cardboard works really well to keep the temp up enough
to feel the heat in the foot well BUT be careful. Running the engine for
a prolonged period of time even just a little above "N" can result in
coolant loss.
oh and don't forget that if your heater suddenly starts blowing cold air
on your feet to cut the ignition right away.
