The stow away top does need a header rail. Any MGB header rail will work.
The very early ones are missing the holes used to bolt them to the folding
top. Later rails for the stow away have the holes but they are plugged with
plastic, since a folding frame was an option. Later rails were bolted to the
folding tops, no stow away option, so no plugs.
Just for fun, I used a rail with holes, and welded them shut. Moss probably
has the correct grey spray paint, but unless you are worried about concourse
points, a can of Krylon or other Dove Grey is very close to correct.
