Thanks Scott,
You gave me the impetus to (after a nice warming bowl of home-made soup
:-) get the circuit-tester out... but first one final wire-jiggle!
FOUND IT - yep, lost a wire onto the starter (see Scott, right again)
that maybe I missed when jiggling in the half light earlier. I will
assume that it has been hanging in OK but maybe the big brake lockup and
bump of the curb shook it loose.
When I bumped the curb, I really though I had tapped the woman's bumper
(and in some funny way, I wished I had - especially as I had just come
away from a race meeting on a slightly damp track where there was plenty
of panel damage after people were cut-off on a greasy track - this
incident put me right out there with them:-).
Problem solved.
