information on correct ride heights and spring installation in my BGT !

1few more question on this same subject.
If I know I have to have my rear springs re-arched
or if I purchase new ones from the UK and replace
them this winter.
Can I un-attach the rear spring hanger (carefully)
and "temporarily" add a shackle to get the car level, by 1 inch ??
Will this adversely affect the handling that bad ? is it ever done ?
