Jaeger Oil pres / Water temp gauge

Had a little overheat problem today (DPO stuff, and something I overlooked in 
getting the
car road ready ... wrong rad cap)

So the gauge "pegged".  : - (

After replacing the cap with the proper early style cap the car seems to be 
running in the
normal range now but the needle on the Jaeger gauge is stuck on "high".

Any suggestions?
