This last couple weeks have been spent disassembling my parts 74 MGB to see
what I could use in the restoration of my "good" 74B. I bought this car
about 2 years ago, brought it home and haven't touched it since. As I was
getting ready to pull the engine, I found the starter had a rubber molded
cover over it. I figured this would hold moisture and the starter would be
a mess of rust. Just the opposite, when I got the cover off the starter
looked brand new.
I've never seen one of these covers before, were they a factory item, or
aftermarket? It is molded to fit pretty tightly over the starter, I guess
that's what keeps the moisture out.
The best part of the car so far is it had an overdrive transmission that I
didn't know about. A very pleasant surprise.
Just wondering about the starter cover,
