List, I'm preparing to do a complete brake job this weekend and while I'm at it I plan to replace the front wheel bearings. I have complete bearing sets with races and oil seals. The bearings are conical roller bearings, not balls. Here are the questions: 1) What type of bearings are original, ball or roller? I have a 68B. 2) With roller bearings do I need shims? I spoke to an old MG (certified in the old days) machanic who said I only need shims if I have ball bearings. What's the list wisdom? Thanks |
