Larry,
The 296-410 is for the earlier MGB and the 297-530 is for the later B and is
coated on both sides to withstand the higher heat. It is basically a heavier
duty version of the 296-410. It would not be recommended to use the 296-410
on the later B, but you could use the 297-530 on the earlier one.

Of course this leads to another question. What's the difference between
297-530 and 296-410? Both
are intake/exhaust manifold gaskets, both fit the same head (configuration)
the latter one is for
the Z-S intake. I gotta imagine they both will fit any MGB (maybe MGA). Is
the latter one, which
may have a metal side, better than the early one?
