You are correct, of course, though in the Cord's case I don't think the
FWD layout has much to do with its long-lasting appeal -- rather, it is
the unique Gordon Buehrig styling that made it so memorable. The first
FWD Cord, the Model L29, had "normal" contemporary styling, and is now
almost forgotten.
