LISTERS,

My friend Peter Petrov at Peter's Marina Motors in Venice has unearthed
what we think might be a very rare car - we are looking for info on it but
are having a bit of trouble finding anything.

We think that it was a factory built rally car. It has RHD. The bonnet,
bootlid, front wings and doors were made out of aluminium. The large fuel
tank that takes up most of the boot, is made from two bottom sections
crimped together in the factory style with the fuel filler punched through
the right rear wing, just in front of the tailamp. It is fitted with a
twin-size SU fuel pump. The original filler hole is filled. The area rear
of the seats has been reworked to take the spare tyre, that fits sort of
under the lip and partially into the boot area. It has a welded-in roll bar
and appears to have never had a soft top. It has 6" wide 60 spoke dunlop
wire wheels. Peter was told that it is a 1964 but auto journalist, Harry
Newton, who has also seen the car, thinks that it might be an earlier car
because of the lack of side windows but this might be a racing feature that
came with the alloy doors.. It has all of the side mouldings and the bonnet
spear that were fitted to earlier MG versions of this car. The car is now a
faded red but left the factory in BRG. It has been sitting for a very long
time. Harry contacted British Motor Industry Heritage Trust who told him
that there were six factory lightweights made about this time but nothing
else.

The car is now fitted with a 1275. The wiring is a bit different but seems
to be factory original. Serial # is: GAN3/37732

What does anyone know about this car?????
