At the time of 10:15 on june 3, 2000 a car travelling in the
opposite direction of me decided that they could make it into a parking
lot before I met them...well they were wrong. So, I guess it is time to
start shopping,
god knows if this costs more than $4000.00 I will never be able to afford
to fix it, and
I am sure that the insurance company will not give me more than $2000.00
even if
they decide that it is their drivers fault, sigh... any thoughts, or
people out there know a kind soul with a quality garage who knows MG's?
Being in California, I can't help you with garages, but I would definitely
spend some time getting irate with the other fellow's insurance company if
they offer you less than you feel your MG is worth. They should either fix
it to the condition it was before the accident, or compensate you for the
purchase of a new one. The insurance company will try and get away with
the least possible money outlay for themselves, and it is your duty to make
sure you feel the settlement is fair. Stand up for your rights. After
all, a decent, rust free Midget in good condition will go for around $4000,
I would think. Look at prices in your newspapers, and maybe the MG Cars
Enthusiasts at: http://www.mgcars.org.uk/ You know, probably more
exactly than anyone else just what your car's condition and worth are.
Stand up for yourself and make sure you get it. Stepping down from my
soapbox now . . . Nina
