George,
  Running down the list as you have it is good.  Also, remove the parking
lamp/turn signal lamp lenses and see if rain water was driven in there.
Gaskets are supposed to be fitted to those lenses to keep out water and,
if they have drain holes, the holes should be at the bottom.
