I had this problem, I solved it by re-tapping the holes to a size that Home
Depot does have, I think it is 8-32(sorry, I am turning into an O-F).
Because these screws had a larger head I was able to add springs as locking
devices instead of hasseling with the lock nuts.  I know this isn't
original, but it works for me. Good Luck!  Don Walton in NC
