If you want to make the cross member just slide in try the following.
Step 1:
Slot the holes in the cross member that the rubber transmission mount studs go
into.
Slot them enough so you can install the mounts on the transmission and then
slide the
cross member over the studs.
Step 2:
Drill two holes in the cross member large enough to get a socket and extension
through.
Drill them at the proper distance (angle ?) so you can slide the socket and
extension
through the holes and allow you to reach the nut you need to tighten.
Now installing the cross member should take just a few minutes and it won't be
so
frustrating.
