OK it is 2:30am here so I accept I am sleep deprived, but as we say in
Australia I feel link a 'bit of a nong' after re reading my last message!
<G>
Randy, if the valve had indeed dropped down into the chamber you should be
able to just lift the spring clean off the cylinder head, in fact it prob.
wouldn't still even be there what with the rocker arm smacking on it. :) So
I feel sort of safe thinking your valve hasn't dropped into the chamber.
Either way that cracked retainer must be replaced. I also hate to think
WHERE that missing piece of retainer has ended up. Have a good look around
the rockers for it. Hopefully it hasn't gone down one of the pushrod holes
and ended up in mincemeat, circulated through your motor etc. If it's not on
top, hopefully it may be just lying in one piece somewhere in the tappet
chest. Here's hoping. Time for me to sleep and let others with clear brains
reply. <G>
zzzzzzzzzzzz........
Cheers,
Neil
