According to http://www.smoothline.com/ the fiberglass hood weighs 25 pounds
with all hardware. What does a steel weigh? Not the kinds of weight
savings from replacing the hood of a '66 Mustang, is it?

didn't think fiberglass hoods were mainly a weight-saving mod for street
racers, but more an easy way to add scoops and blower/carb bulges. I'm

A nice advantage if I decide to do a V-8 conversion.

actually surprised someone makes one for an MGB, when you already have
the option of aluminum, "factory" steel, and repro steel (cheaper). There

I agree--I'd love to have an aluminum hood, but I want one that's perfectly
straight, which means ordering an MGC hood from Moss for $600+. I've heard
bad things about the repros too, and I want one that fits well.

are a lot of complaints about the fit of the repro steel hoods, so I
would be concerned about potential fit problems. But I dunno, myself.

I've heard this too, which is why I'm looking into the Smoothline. I hope
that I get some good reports back as this is the kind of mod I
like--hopefully save some weight, some money AND be transparent from the
outside that anything is different.
