Hi, Spunky, 

A-Series came in 848, 998, 1098 and 1275 cc capcities. I recently drove
a Frogeye (Bugeye) which had a (1970s) 1275 Midget engine. 
It went very well indeed but the 1275 rear axle had been used. Without,
it would have been drastically undergeared.
