If you have a right hand drive car they lean to the right over time. It is
caused obviously by the driver's weight, not necessarily balance by a
passenger. The main source is the rear leaf springs. Leaf springs have a
great many advantages, especially in a load carrying vehicle but the fact
is that they start to sag from the moment they are fitted and this becomes
obvious when it is greater on one side of the vehicle. The slight sag
makes very little difference to the performance of the springs when loaded.
The Midget suffers most from sag as the suspension travel at the rear is
so small. Thus you get a very hard ride in a Midget since the springs hit
the bump stops from even quite small bumps.
