I used to have this in spades with a Dodge Dart. In that case it was the
idler arm, but with rack & pinion you don't have that problem (is a
Midget R & P? I guess I don't know). Sounds like toe-out to me. Or the
rear springs are loose.
Dick Watson had this to say:
>My 78 Midget recently started to have a mind of its own when going down
>the highway. It seems to want to "wander" somewhat from left to right
>when it should be going straight. When I ever so slightly turn the car
>back to straight, I get the feeling that it is "over correcting." I
>have owned this acr for 2 1/2 years and do not remeber this sensation.
>Before I take it to my alignment shop, I thought I would ask the list
>what I should look for.
>
>I seem to remember a thread about this a couple of months ago but at
>that time my car was put away for the winter Any advice would be
>appreciated. BTW I have checked tire pressure and all is equal there.

>Thanks in advance.

>Oh yeah, Toby my shirts arrived and they look great.

Runs great,
looks particularly bad since some SUV clown backed into it.
If you're near Mountain View, CA,
it's the red one with the silver bootlid.
