Hi Rich, This is more like what I recall reading at the UTEP library and other places. Friction causes wear. Piston speed, re: rpm, is minimal near TDC. Combustion pressures get in the act here too. I agree that an OD adds complexity to the drive train. Used correctly, it makes up for it, IMHO. Never said it was a panacea. It's not an albatross either. CR |
