Have you tried cleaning the pistons/calippers? Replace the rubber rings in them?

Subject: Dragging Brake Pad

My friend Joe and I were talking this morning about the front brake pads on
his '80 roadster which are apparently dragging on the rotors. The
conventional wisdom of the list would point to old brake hoses not allowing
the pressure to release, but Joe has new brake hoses on the front.

Would air in the system cause the pistons to not retract? Thought bleeding
the system might help. Any thoughts about where to look for the problem?
