With all the conversation regarding FI for an MG, I'm supprised no one
has mentioned putting a twin throat TBI onto a well designed Weber DGV.
Looking at the manifold on a customer's car in my shop, it just seems
like a natural combination. (assuming you've got to have FI.)
Not being up on all the ins and outs of ECU's , etc, I haven't a clue as
to what else would be involved, but I doubt it could be more complex than
some of the other solutions offered.
In one of the parts cataloges my son gets periodically, is a "stand
alone system designed to retro-fit carburated, non computerized vehicles
and boats" for the princely sum of $630. While offered for a small V8,
I'd be willing to bet that someone more knowledgeble than me (which
covers a MASSIVE portion of the population!) could adapt one to use a
smaller TBI, say one off a small GM engine, and get it to work on an MG.
Just a thought, and if it is a bad one, well, I tried.
