The problem may very well be the "headspace and timing", to use an army
saying, of the operator, or maybe the old gauge I was using at the craft
shop.
I just can't believe the car runs like it does with the numbers I got when I
did the test (twice, dry and wet, still 75/3 and 55 on #2) I know the #2 has
a leaky exhaust valve, since it gives the snap snap at the tail pipe and
"burbles" a little too much off throttle, no backfiring now with the new
exhaust though.
I was mainly interested in the question of a "too high" reading and that
causing massive oil usage for our list friend.
Sounds silly, but I may just go to a mechanic to get a second opinion.
Haven't been to one yet, of course I would never let him do anything but
test...no way I'd pay someone to have all the fun of replacing a part!
