Andy,

I did the same thing!  Luckily after driving it, it came open by itself.  I
then adjusted it and it stuck again-don't hit the trunk with palm of your hand
as I found out that it leaves a dandy dent.  Unfortunately, I don't remember
the exact drill for opening it!
