Trunk stuck closed

     Hi all,
     
     so it's like this, see.  I fit a new seal to the trunk lock, which 
     pads it out by about 1mm.  I close the trunk.  The 1mm padding 
     prevents the lock button from fully depressing the catch, so the latch 
     does not release.
     
     Oops.
     
     Anyone got any (non-destructive) suggestions to get it open again?
