The lack of originality goes the other way around: This story has been
circulating on the 'Net for years (I first saw it in early '95), so if
anything, the "Homicide" writers got it from the Internet.
In addition, an individual whom I trust told me that he actually wrote AAFS
to find out if the story was true, and was told that it was. (Not
firsthand knowledge, but like I said, I trust him.)
