You hit the nail right square on the head. I agree here wholeheartedly.
This is part of reason I think it's quite acceptable to put a new Lucas
alternator
on my car. Despite the fact it may break on me 20 years from now, and the $175
expense
it's still much cheaper than some of the ridiculous parts prices and labor
charges for some of the these new cars.
Then I hear about people saying they want to put a cheaper, albeit, maybe
better electronic fuel pump on their car simply because a new pump or rebuild
kit is too expensive. Comom!
btw, I'm going against all my rants about mostly original MGs now
since I've decided to slap a rover/buick V8 into my '78 B. Maybe then the
rubber bumper B will approach the godly status on my '70 CHROME-BUMPERED B. :)
Anybody got a good rover or buick for sale, or know where I can get a good one.?
Stay tuned as I will post as much info as possible about my transformation. I
know many listers here are interested in this project. I expect it will cost
me $2000 for everything.
