A quick question that I know has been asked B4. I am refitting my cylinder head. The new gasket has one side made of what I believe to be aluminum, the other of asbestos (or similar). A metal lip is formed around the combustion chamber bores to form a seal on the asbestos side of the gasket. There are no markings indicating which end is up. So, which end is up? One source suggests metal towards the head, another metal towards the block. Regards, Chris Delling |
