Greg Jones <gjones@mvp.net> asked about a TD engine transplant?

The two best engine transplants are:

1) The Datsun 1200/1300/1400/1500 OHV four found in all Datsun 210 and B210
(Cherry to the rest of the world). It will fit without cutting anything, is
pretty easy to do and is completely reversable. Walt Huff and Ed Chadroff
did a kit in the 1980s and it was slick. Ed even built a TF for his wife
with an automatic! Mike O'Onnor of O'Connor Classics on Scott Blvd. in
Santa Clara, CA bought the last of these kits and has built a few REAL NICE
conversions, including Mike's own boatail woodie TD. see this at:
 www.carsandculture.com - look up carculture/woodies/conversions

call Mike if you are interested.

2) The old Volvo B1800 engine was a popular TD swap for years but these
engines are getting hard to find and expensive to rebuild.

Both of these mills will tear up your stock rear end and will tax the stock
brakes. Suggestion is to bolt in both an MGB front suspension/disc brakes
and 3:90 rear end/wire wheels optional. MGA wheels look great/MGA disc
wheels bolt to the B lugs and use TD hubcaps as well.

Remember: Modified cars that are done well are usually not worth less than
stockers but are harder to sell. See you on the Funway! - Rick Feibusch -

Would anyone have any input about their MGs and using them in a large city?
Anything on car-jackings, break-ins/stolen MGs, and parking/traffic. Would
be great.

Thanks,
