68-71 mgb/c dash recovering

Has anybody done an install on one of these kits?

Do you need to get every last bit of the old dash off the metal?

Any recomendations on type/brand of contact adhesive to use?

Why didn't they build the big foam block into the replacement pad? Sure
seems like it would have made the fit easier/better and cleaning of the
metal facia easier.

Any tips are welcome!
